Gestational hypertension or high blood pressure in pregnancy can be perilous for both the mother and the unborn child. It can reduce the flow of the blood to the placenta, decrease birth weight, and cause premature delivery. However, the dangers are negligible for as long as women are constantly examined during pregnancy. Preeclampsia, a severe blood pressure situation during pregnancy, usually occurs if the blood pressure gets bad; that is why continuous monitoring is very essential to guarantee a healthy delivery of the baby. So, what are the methods on how to lower hypertension while pregnant? Listed below are some guidelines that will serve as references. 1. There are a lot of medicines that are not safe to take during pregnancy, although they are considered effective for treating hypertension. Drugs with ACE inhibitors and beta blockers are said to have detrimental side effects while pregnant. These medicines should only be prescribed under cautious supervision by a professional doctor. Methyldopa has been studied to give best results in treating hypertension during pregnancy. 2. Getting plenty of rest is always recommended for pregnant women with high blood pressure. It is good to take a nap all through the day and avoid getting very exhausted. 3. Get rid of fried foods. Oil can upsurge in your arteries if you constantly eat fried foods or foods rich in concentrated oil. This build up in the arteries constricts the path of flowing blood, thereby elevating blood pressure. In case you want to eat fried foods, balance your diet with fresh vegetables and fruits. 4. Doing a lot of exercise and monitoring your weigh is also advised. During a hypertensive pregnancy, swimming and walking are excellent for pregnant women. During pregnancy, women should avoid gaining too much weight to prevent the heart from getting stressed. 5. Eat foods or take in dietary supplements that are rich in potassium. Foods such as chicken, avocados, tomatoes, orange juice, and bananas are said to be rich in potassium. 6. To reduce your stress levels and help alleviate your blood pressure, try to practice relaxation methods like yoga or breathing exercises. These techniques can be very much useful in reducing tension or anxiety and stirring up relaxation. Delivery is the only solution if medications, rest, and diet modification do not work even if it calls for premature delivery. Mothers should always be aware of the right techniques to do on how to lower blood pressure while pregnant to prevent any dangerous preterm birth. At the same time, they should remain under the secure care of her doctor to avoid further complications.
Oftentimes we are concerned with the feasibility of exercising when suffering from an ailment. For patients of high blood pressure (hypertension) this is of even greater concern, with questions surrounding their body’s ability to endure the rigors of this increased activity and the wisdom of subjecting it to this additional pressure. This need not be of concern. In fact if you’re suffering from high blood pressure, moderate to medium exercise can be one of the most effective ways of controlling it. Consider that the heart is a muscle and similar to all other muscles, it maintains or increases strength with regular activity and loses its elasticity with inactivity and age. Exercise not only improves your cardiovascular system but can help in lowering your cholesterol and maintaining a healthy body weight, both of which are contributors to hypertension. Although it is unclear as to exactly how exercise contributes to a lowering of high blood pressure, one of the prevailing theories is that exercise (aerobic) reduces insulin and insulin resistance, two of the factors associated with the development of hypertension. It’s also undeniable that regular physical activity strengthens the heart, the stronger the heart the lower the amount of effort needed to pump blood thus decreasing the strain on your arteries and lowering your blood pressure. Research has continuously shown that cardiovascular diseases are more prevalent among those individuals who are least fit, with hypertension being 30% to 50% more likely to occur. Exercise programs are slotted into two distinct categories: Aerobic and Anaerobic. Aerobic exercise strengthens and enlarges the heart muscle along with the muscles of the respiratory system. The end result being that your cardiovascular system is strengthened, while your stamina and overall strength is increased. The decrease in your heart rate will, by extension lead to a decrease in your blood pressure over time. Anaerobic exercise on the other hand is useful in building: strength, muscle mass and speed, while also increasing the metabolic rate and is deemed to be more beneficial to athletes. All physical activity which increases your heart and breathing rate can be considered aerobic, including such everyday activities as: bicycling, walking, dancing, climbing the stairs, mowing the lawn, raking leaves etc. More formal and structured forms of exercise include: basketball, volleyball, softball, tennis and racquetball among others. These types of activities are suggested for persons who would be more comfortable in participating in team activities or who may benefit from the support and encouragement of others. Yoga, Tai Chi chuan or any other form of martial arts could also be beneficial. For the patients of high blood pressure (hypertension) it’s important to remember that the aim is to participate in moderate forms of exercise. Moderate implies that you must exert yourself a little without getting too out of breath.
Your choice of exercise should be one which you like to do and can be incorporated into your daily routine without too much difficulty. Doing so would insure its longevity. Varying your exercise regimen will also help in breaking the monotony and encourage you to continue. An adequate exercise regimen should consist of at least thirty (30) minutes of exercise three to five times a week, at least every other day. An alternative method as suggested by the Surgeon General is that "all adults should accumulate 30 minutes of moderate-intensity activity on most, if not all days of the week. The key words are "accumulate" and "moderate-intensity." Accumulate means that you can do 10-15 minutes at a time and repeat that a couple of times throughout the day; for example, 10 minutes in the morning, 10 minutes at lunch, and 10 minutes around dinner. Moderate intensity is equivalent to feeling "warm and slightly out of breath" when you do it."

The natural aging process increases the chances of getting high blood pressure but participating in some form of exercise can reduce this risk. A single workout may reduce your blood pressure for the whole day and exercising regularly, consistently keeps the pressure down. It’s a personal choice as to what type of exercise one should follow but whatever type you choose you should first consult your doctor and get his/her recommendations, particularly if you are taking medication for high blood pressure. Self monitoring (heart rate monitor) during exercise is also advised. If there’s discomfort in the chest, jaw or arm or you experience dizziness or severe shortage of breath, stop all exercises immediately and notify your doctor, if these symptoms persist call 911.

Many studies are being done regarding natural alternatives to drugs in the case of hypertension. There have been many positive results when using fish oil for blood pressure problems. This oil is comprised of the omega-3 fatty acid eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), which appears to decrease blood pressure by blocking the body from producing thromboxane. Heart disease patients and people who have high cholesterol show elevated levels of thromboxane in their systems. Thromboxane increases blood pressure by tapering your blood vessels (also called a vasoconstrictor). EPA stimulates your body to produce a vasodilator which induces the vessels to dilate and relax, therefore lowering the blood pressure level. This is where the benefits of fish oil for blood pressure come into play. Recently, three researchers combined the results of many individual fish oil studies that met with their criteria, which equaled one large study of a little over 1300 people. The outcome of fish oil for blood pressure in people with heart disease indicated systolic decreases of 10 to 17 mm Hg and diastolic decreases of 3 to 10 mm Hg. These studies are encouraging, but scientists agree that more research needs to be conducted in this area of study. There are some risk factors that you have no control over such as a family history of early heart disease, your gender (men have a higher incidence of heart disease at an earlier age), and race (American Indians, Mexican Americans, African Americans as well as native Hawaiians have an increased risk due to higher rates of hypertension and diabetes). However, there are some things that you can have control over and be pro-active in being heart-healthy. Try to include a minimum of thirty minutes of exercise in your daily plans. Talk to your doctor about what your ideal weight should be, and work toward achieving that goal. Eliminate use of all tobacco products and limit your exposure to secondhand smoke. Consume some omega-3 fatty acids every day along with good carbohydrates, which include whole grains, fruits and vegetables in their natural forms, and avoid trans fats and saturated fats. If you are concerned that you may be a candidate for hypertension, make an appointment to see your physician. They will do a simple painless test using an inflatable cuff on your arm to test your blood pressure. The American Heart Association recommends that when you go to get your blood pressure checked, make sure you are sitting in a chair with your back supported, feet flat on the floor, and your arm extended at heart level rather than sitting on an exam table or with your arm bent at your side. A study conducted by University of Virginia Health System nurses stated this method could result in a 13% lower systolic and 6% lower diastolic reading. It is often difficult to eat enough fish to get sufficient amounts of fish oil for blood pressure problems in our daily diets. Taking fish oil in the form of a dietary capsule is a good [...]

Taking fish oil in the form of a dietary capsule is a good way to ensure you are getting an adequate dosage of the omega-3 essential fatty acids DHA and EPA.

To learn more benefits besides just fish oil for blood pressure concerns, check out my web site listed in the bio section of this article.

As with any other health problem, a number of natural remedies for high blood pressure have been proposed which might not be clinically approved but have helped many patients. A very popular natural solution is to use apple cider vinegar. Some patients have claimed that this magical substance has the ability to decrease pressure levels within minutes and that instead of taking their daily medication, they have started taking daily doses of this and it works just as effectively. Then there’s also garlic. Different patients seem to prefer different methods; some like to take garlic pills while others just eat it raw. Regardless of the method used, it has been seen that garlic is an effective natural substance for reducing high blood pressure. Also, if you have no problem with spicy garlic, then cayenne pepper is another solution which works pretty well. Other natural remedies for high blood pressure focus more on changing what you eat rather than adding supplements to your diet. Vegetables and fruits, rich in potassium and magnesium, are found to be highly effective. Foods like potatoes, rice, bananas etc. are rich in magnesium. In addition, fish is also seen as one of the best solutions due to its high Omega-3 fatty acid content. Another effective natural remedy which is not related to diet, is the concept of owning or caring for a pet. Animals are calm by nature and studies suggest that people who spend time with pets have less hypertension. Aerobic exercises, like walking, jogging and cycling, are amongst the best natural remedies for high blood pressure. Patients undergoing aerobic training have experienced significant declines in pressure levels. Before trying any natural remedies you should consult your doctor. In some cases, you may be required to take medication along with using these natural means. You can achieve a normal blood pressure rating and it is only a matter of knowing how. Tomato Juice Another source of food good for you is tomato juice. If you were into juicing, you could have yourself a fresh cup of tomato juice daily. Spinach Okay, poppy the sailor man food. Spinach is known to be rich in magnesium and it helps prevent heart disease and strokes.
High blood pressure is also called hypertension. This condition is widely described by medical professionals as “the silent killer” because most people don’t even know they have it until it strikes a major organ system. Many people remain undiagnosed until hypertension is revealed by having their blood pressure taken during a medical or dental appointment. For those who do have symptoms, they include headaches, nosebleeds, dizziness, a flushed face and fatigue. Hypertension that isn’t controlled by medication, diet modifications and environmental/social conditions that produce high stress such as an extremely stressful home or job situation will result in stroke, aneurysm, heart attack, heart failure and kidney damage. According to the Merk Manual of Medical Information, 2nd Edition, more than 50 million Americans suffer from high blood pressure – many don’t even know it! Hypertention is an equal opportunity destroyer, but it tends to affect African Americans in particular. It is twice as common among people who are obese than among those who are not. Severe, long-term hypertension that is untreated can cause swelling of the brain, chronic headaches, nausea, vomiting, confusion, drowsiness, seizures, sleeplessness, and coma. An overweight or obese person will be advised by their doctors to lose weight. Even losing as much as ten pounds can lower blood pressure! For those who are suffering from obesity-related diabetes, a radical change of diet that greatly reduces fat content, stopping alcohol (way high in calories), stopping smoking, and increasing physical activity through yoga, pilates, walking meditation, and mild to moderate increase in aerobic exercise. Regular physical activity helps reduce blood pressure and the functioning of the heart. In addition to these changes in personal and social environmental levels, doctors will most likely recommend medication to reduce high blood pressure. These include diuretics to eliminate excess water content in the body, an alpha or beta blocker, an ACE inhibitor, an angiotensin II blocker, or a calcium channel blocker. Your health care provider will fully explain all medication options to you. These drugs do have side effects that are generally not serious when compared to the havoc that untreated hypertension unleashes in the body. For obese people with hypertension, the first front guard action is losing weight. Physicians dislike prescribing the drug phentermine or similar prescription drugs because has so many dangerous side effects, including fatal reactions and addiction to the drug. If phentermine is given, the patient must be very closely monitored by a health care provider to make sure the patient’s use is not causing any serious medical problem. For an increasing number of overweight and obese people, over-the-counter supplements are their answer to losing weight and keeping it off. Fortunately, illnesses caused by obesity are most often significantly reduced through weight loss and other medical protocol. It comes down to an obese person making a very serious personal choice: do I want to face chronic illness or even death, or do I want to lose weight? Make your choice today, starting right now.

Once a detailed study about the syndrome was done, doctors considered it a disease. Chronic fatigue syndrome was not considered to be a disease at all as physicians kept on avoiding it by naming it as an intuition.

CFS affects over a million people, most of them women. Although, doctors admit that men tend to seek treatment less for the condition less than women. CFS affects all ages and race groups.

CFS is often times misunderstood by by the public and even many doctors. If they give the condition any credibility at all, it’s generally to diagnose it as another condition. CFS in teens and children is a rare occurance and these groups report that they have the most difficulty in gaining understanding from their doctors, peers and parents.

CFS is not so easy to diagnose because it has no clear symptoms. The two important criteria under which the syndrome can be identified are the PSYCHOLOGICAL & PHYSIOLOGICAL states. This study goes in depth to know about the psychological aspect.

CFS has similar causes as those of the conditions of Psychological disorders and so it becomes very difficult to treat it. The common identifications found are Mental Agony, manic depressive disorder, Disorders relating to perception of mind, drug and alcohol usage and a conditon denoting anxiety, mental stress, fatigue.

Common treatments include: anti-anxiety medicines, anti-depressants, cognitive behavior therapy and light exercise (too much exercise could actually exacerbate this condition).

The people affected by this disease claim that building connections across the web is the only solution to make everyone identify it. In addition to this, this is also an easy way to get updates of diagnosing it.

Taking deep breaths and special treatment for relaxing will produce positive results which is very effective.

As stress causes CFS, High Blood Pressure program can be taken as a wise choice to overcome it. In a very natural way the program has been structured to keep the blood pressure in correct range regardless of the fact whether we have it or not.

Christian Goodman is a best known health researcher and the writer of many revolutionary natural ways of blood pressure remedies.
They even go so far as to share the exact names of the drugs they have been prescribed. I am pretty familiar with most of these, but the research still seems to open my eyes over and over.

Problem is normally considered blood pressure elevated beyond 140 over 90.

It can affect heart, eyes, kidney and brain. This will cause various problems to these organs.

Additional problems can include blindness, sleeplessness and erectile dysfunction. One problem with this though is that the symptoms may not be present or noticeable.

It can be confirmed only by inspecting our blood pressure. A few knew that the indications of blood pressure are smeared eye sight, excess sweating, cold and headache.

Remember that one single reading is not a good indicator. It needs to be checked regularly.

The possible side effects of using the drugs should be told to the patients before they use it. ACE Inhibitors, Beta Blockers, Calcium Channel Blockers and Diuretics are the four drugs that I am going to explain my experience on this day.

Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors help blood vessels relax by blocking the production of angiotensin II. Some commonly prescribed ACE inhibitors include: benazepril (Lotensin), captopril (Capoten), enalapril (Vasotec), lisinopril (Prinivil, Zestril),quinapril (Accupril, Mavik) and ramipril (Altace).

Long term coughing, pain in head, pain in heart and sometimes it even affects kidney these are the possible side effects of these drugs.

Some Beta Blockers are acebutolol (Sectral), atenolol (Tenormin), carvedilol (Coreg), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), nadolol (Corgard) and penbutolol (Levatol). Nerve signals to the heart are reduced, which slows the heart beat. That in turn lowers the blood pressure.

Side effects include: fatigue, dizziness, shortness of breath, impotence, depression, memory loss and even hallucinations.

Some of the beta blockers are amlodipine (Norvasc), diltiazem (Cardizem, Dilacor XR) felodipine (Plendil), nicardipine (Cardene), nifedipine (Adalat, Procardia), and verapamil (Calan, Covera, Isoptin, Verelan). Calcium Channel Blockers are the medicine that stops calcium from entering the heart and other blood vessels. It also brings down blood pressure and squeezes the blood vessels.

Side effects include: nausea, heartburn, shortness of breath, trouble swallowing, dizziness, sexual dysfunction, and in some cases, stroke and heart attack. Hey! I thought they were supposed to help prevent stroke and heart attacks!

The body loses water content and sodium that brings down the blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide, furoseminde and chlorthalidone were widely found. The increase in urine output will be the last stage.

Unevenness in ion content, Unable to make sex, growth of lactic glands in men, high blood glucose level and unclear vision were the side effects of the drugs.

It is better to reduce your hypertension medicine gradually.

You can reduce your levels using my natural high blood pressure program. Your physician may be little reluctant in accepting this first, but you can show your normal levels for proof.

It might seem like an obvious question, but many people do not take the time to ask why is high blood pressure dangerous? People have this general idea about their blood pressure and that it can lead to harm and danger, but people don’t know exactly what it does. Additionally, people operate under the assumption that because so many people have it that it’s not really serious. Unfortunately, this could not be farther from the truth. If you’ve never taken the time to ask or find out the answer to the question of why is high blood pressure dangerous, take a quick look at these harrowing consequences.

The answers for why is high blood pressure dangerous can be shocking if you weren’t expecting them. The ultimate consequence can be death. Yes, high blood pressure can kill you. It does this in several different ways, such as by greatly increasing your risk of heart attack and stroke. This is because your arteries become thickened and can become clogged or blocked. Once this happens, heart attacks and strokes can unfortunately be just around the corner.

Your heart will also struggle under the increased pressure and workload and can eventually just outright fail. Other important organs such as your kidney can become weakened and fail as well. Blood vessels in your brain can become blocked or ruptured, aneurysms can occur as blood vessels weaken and bulge, and much more.

You also might be wondering about what causes high blood pressure. Causes are very diverse, and can be different from person to person. In some cases it can be entirely genetic. In other instances it’s a direct result of diet, such as having too much sodium. Sometimes it’s a side effect of obesity, and the poor diet that accompanies that as well. Often times causes are not entirely understood, and of course they can all combine together.

Finally, it’s also important to know what the danger zone is for high blood pressure problems. Hypertension is generally recognized as blood pressure higher than 140/90. Lower than 120/80 is considered healthy, so therefore anything in between those two figures is considered that danger zone. Unfortunately there are not many warning signs when you reach this level. This is why you have to be checked out by your doctor regularly, so you can catch problems even without warning signs before it’s too late.

So why is high blood pressure dangerous? Because it can and in most cases will eventually kill you if it’s left unchecked and gets bad enough. It can cause heart attacks and strokes, or lead to failure of your heart, aneurysms, other organ failures and much more. If you want to mitigate all of these risks, start improving the way that you live day to day as soon as possible. It’s never too late to change and blood pressure can be improved greatly in a short amount of time once you start to implement changes and solutions.
