Blockage of the arteries is one of the most common health problems around. Blockage of the arteries is responsible for many serious conditions such as heart attack or stroke and plays a role in a myriad of minor ones such as fatigue, shortness of breath, edema, and poor memory. The cause If is obvious that in order for there to be an blockage, or partial blockage, there must be an obstruction. In the case of blockage of the arteries that obstruction comes in the form of arterial plaque. Generally arterial plaque takes years to build, perhaps starting in teen or preteen years and building over many, many years. With the average age of a heart attack due to blockage of the arteries being around 60, you can see that a person experiencing total blockage resulting in a heart attack may have been accumulating tiny bits of plaque for 50 years before a major cardiovascular concern occurred. What is plaque? Plaque deposits are made up of cholesterol, dead cells, fibrous tissue, and calcium amongst other things. In other words anything that might be floating in your blood stream. But the thing about plaque deposits is they need help to get started, which comes in the form of substances that damage the smooth interior lining of the arteries making them rough and jagged. Possible culprits Bad cholesterol (LDL) damages the lining of the arteries. Additionally, hostile amino acids known as homocysteines, which are released when high protein foods are digested are thought to play a role. Triglycerides, which are early stage blood fats acquired primarily from fatty foods can contribute to arterial plaque a well. There are other possibilities as well but these three are generally considered to be the most prevalent. Once blockage of the arteries occurs starts to occur can it be reversed? Most believe the answer is yes. Certainly some people with blockage of the arteries will have a steeper hill to climb than others. For example those who are obese, smoke, or have a genetic disorder that flood the blood stream with lipids (fats). A couple of examples of genetic disorders would be hyperlipidemia or hypercholesterolemia which are normally treated with prescription medications such as statins. Nevertheless, despite the challenges there is great deal that can be done. Keep in mind that bad cholesterol (LDL) is the primary fuel needed to build arterial plaque. So our first step will need to be to reduce cholesterol intake from foods. According to the American Heart Association in order to reverse blockage of the arteries, no more than 7 percent (16 grams) of calories should come for saturated fat and no more 25 percent total fat. What this really means is less red meat along with more fruits, vegetables, and soluble fiber foods (oat bran, whole grains). Next is to neutralize any dangerous homocysteines that might be floating around in the bloodstream by eating foods rich in folic acid, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12.
With the greatly modernized way of life today, certain diseases and physiological imparities are taking precedence over others. During any change in our immediate environment, our body is the last to adapt, because it has a complete physiological environment of its own. One of the major causes of this is an immediate change in lifestyle, which is instrumental in bringing about certain diseases, many of them actually lethal. The Coronary Heart disease is one of these diseases whose immediate triggering cause is not known. However, it manifests itself in different forms of diseases, all centered in or about the heart, causing reduced functionality of the heart and blockages and stoppages of the arteries and primary blood vessels. This form of disease is not exclusive to any particular sex, age group or even, for that matter, social group. However, detailed studies have revealed some alarming trends regarding such heart diseases, which annually causes thousands of premature deaths in the conventionally ‘more modernized/urbanized’ regions. Coronary Heart diseases generally manifest themselves most commonly in the form of a cardiac arrest, where the body goes into a form of seizure and the heart stops pumping blood. The arteries around the heart also constrict, owing to the reduced amount of blood being circulated. These attacks are extremely lethal, and in severe cases, the patient needs to be immediately hospitalized to avert a terminal result. Presently, such attacks may or may not be preceded by certain symptoms, so it’s always advisable to consult a general physician and store some useful medicine at the house to combat any such contingent necessity. Symptoms of heart attacks include a sense of pressure and heaviness felt in the chest region, dyspnea and continued irregular/painful breathing and chest pain. The Chest pain may come in spasms, or as a blunt sensation that generally spreads across the chest, and is usually accompanied by fatigue, and in some cases, a sensation of angina. Usually, physicians advise immediate hospitalization during these cases. Coronary heart disease might not be cured by domestically-available means, but it sure could be prevented. The most important step towards its prevention is maintaining an active, healthy lifestyle. While systematically eliminating the primary risk-factors associated with heart diseases like smoking, high blood pressure (hypertension), diabetes and obesity, we could easily prevent heart diseases. A healthy, active lifestyle, including a balanced and nutritional diet and lots of exercise could actually strengthen our systems and inhibit the accumulation of excess fat in our body. As a result of which, our basic metabolism rates are bolstered and our body burns more calories. Also, certain lifestyle changes are needed, like trying to reduce stress, anxieties and taking up activities that keep the body fit while invigorating the mind. Lifestyle experts recommend taking up activities like group sports and yoga, which not only keeps the body healthy but also keeps the body-weight under control. And unfortunately, obesity is somewhat getting more and more popular these past few years, for some reasons. But the main and ultimate reason of obesity is modern and unhealthy life style. In this modern life, people are now well acquainted with so-called stress at work, which can cause the body circulation does not work properly.

Hence, it can cause fat and other dangerous substances cannot be processed well. Other cause of obesity is the instant and fast food available nowadays. People with thigh work schedule cannot surely prepare their own food, so they are buying and consuming fast food, all the time; on breakfast, lunch, and even on dinner. Fact is, fast food can be very much dangerous for they consist of much oil, much fat, less fiber, and fewer vitamins. Hence, many people are now suffering from obesity; what these people does not seem to know is that obesity can cause many dangerous and common diseases. Here they are.

The first common and dangerous disease caused by obesity is cardio diseases or popularly known as heart diseases, including broken heart and heart failure. According to several studies from all over the world, heart disease is the frequent murderer of human, for more than 5 percent people died due to this disease every year; it gain numbers every year. Heart disease is commonly caused by cholesterol, which is potentially causing blood vessel to narrowing, and also covering the tissue of human’s heart.

The second common disease caused by obesity is reproduction diseases, such as infertility, menstrual disorders, diabetes mellitus, and so forth. This is mainly dangerous for women, for obesity can cause them to not be able to pregnant and give a birth. Hence, women who suffer from obesity are to cure and heal their obesity before they get married, so they will be able to have a baby.

The third common disease that is mainly caused by obesity is neuron diseases, such as stroke, migraines, sclerosis, and other diseases dealing with neurology. This kind of disease is usually suffered by those who are working hard, and even have no time to take care of their body. Businesspersons, executive, and workers are groups of people who are commonly suffering neuron diseases caused by obesity.

The fourth common disease is rheumatic diseases, such as arthritis, gout, low back pain; these diseases are usually suffered by women with obesity. There are also many kinds of diseases caused by obesity, such as respiratory disorders (such as snoring and lung diseases), and depression, stress, and other psychological diseases.

However, all of those diseases have the exact similarity; they can cause people’s life quality to greatly decreased, so they feel like live a useless life. Hence, people with obesity are to find an effective treatment at immediate. Nowadays, indeed, there are many things people can do to treat their obesity, either by medical treatment or by natural treatment.

Over the last 30 years, with reduced cholesterol and an emphasis on increased physical activity, cardiovascular health has improved. There is still work to be done however, as the World Health Organization predicts almost 400,000 Americans will die of coronary disease in 2010. Fortunately, Research scientists have discovered that the number of circulating adult stem cells in the blood stream is beneficial for good health. Even better are the recent studies that have shown the more adult stem cells circulating in the blood, the better cardiovascular health will be.

This article will examine a few of these studies in order for you to understand the health benefits of naturally increasing the release of adult stem cells into the blood stream.

Vasa, et, al (2001) discovered that people with poor cardiovascular health have less endothelial progenitor cells (EPC’s) in the blood stream than those with good cardiovascular health. EPC’s are certain type of stem cell that can create new blood vessels. The study showed that EPC’s taken from people with poor cardiovascular health had less ability to migrate into tissues. The Vasa study also found that people who smoked had fewer EPC’s in the blood stream.
Schmidt-Lucke et al (2004) conducted an experiment where 120 individuals (43 control and 77 at risk of cardiovascular health problems) had the number of EPC’s in their blood stream measured. The subjects were observed for a period of 10 months and the Schmidt-Lucke study concluded that cardiovascular health problems were linked to a reduced number of EPC’s in the blood stream.
Werner et al (2005) conducted a more extensive study where 19 individuals had the number of EPC’s in the blood stream measured and were observed for one year. The study showed the individuals with more circulating EPC’s had fewer cardiovascular health problems than the individuals with less circulating EPC’s — who did experience cardiovascular events.

Because of these recent studies, scientists understand the link between a greater number of circulating adult stem cells and better cardiovascular health. Essentially, poor circulation is a lack of oxygen. When oxygen is lacking, the tissue releases compounds for two tasks. One, to attract EPC’s to the tissue and two, to convert EPC’s into new capillary cells. We can conclude then, that a tissue lacking oxygen triggers a process where circulating adult stem cells travel to the tissue and become new capillary cells. New capillaries allow for more efficient delivery of oxygen and nutrients and thus better health.
In summary, we are well aware that the efficient delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the organs and tissues is vital to optimal health. Thanks to scientists, we are now also aware that the best way to maintain our bodies intricate network of delivery — the capilliaries — and ultimately our good health, is by increasing the number of circulating adult stem cells in the blood steam.

While we might feeling well or very healthy, risk on heart attack is still wide open. Some may have higher risk from heart attack. Here are the groups that have the high risk from heart disease:

1. Male above 45 years old: It is very important to realize their vulnerability and take positive precaution to avoid heart attack.

2. Females: Entering 55 years old or suffering from early menopause (impact from medical condition or surgery). Women began to overtake men in terms of risk of heart disease after menopause.

3. Family history: History of heart attack in the family often shows inheritance of abnormal cholesterol profiles.

4. Diabetes: Most diabetics deceased not because of sky high blood sugar rate, but because the condition of their heart complications.

5. Obesity: Higher BMI means increase in body surface area, and this increase the heart workload to pump blood throughout the body. This condition could lead to heart attack.

6. Not enough exercise: is one of many causes of heart condition because exercises, especially aerobics are meant to train our heart muscle.

7. Stress: Many scientific researches suggest that facing difficult and stressful situations could induce heart’ arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) which is a life-threatening condition.

8. Smoking: People who smoke have higher risk from heart condition because of the poisonous materials in cigarettes.

9. Hypertension: they are closely related to begin with.

If you’re over 40 and you can sit on the floor, reach for your toes and get your fingers past them, some new research suggests this is a sign that your artery and veins are flexible.

It’s an unusual suggestion – how flexible you are on the outside as a way to tell how flexible you are on the inside, but this is precisely what the team of Japanese researchers uncovered.

Arteries are known to naturally stiffen as we age, long recognized as a forerunner of dangerous cardiovascular disease.

"Our findings have potentially important clinical implications because trunk flexibility can be easily evaluated," points out study co-author Kenta Yamamoto of the University of North Texas and the National Institute of Health and Nutrition in Japan. "This simple test might help to prevent age-related arterial stiffening."

In the study, 526 adults, nonsmokers who were not considered obese, between the ages of 20 to 83 took part in the sit-and-reach test described above. The team measured how far each of the subjects could reach, classifying them as either poor or high flexibility.

Blood pressure readings, as well as other measurements of cardiovascular health were taken, and participants were tested for cardiorespiratory fitness, muscle strength and endurance. The participants were divided, by age, into young, middle and older groups.

The team found that trunk flexibility did appear to be a good predictor of artery stiffness for the middle aged and older group, not so for the young. The systolic blood pressure (top number, when heart is beating) was higher in poor flexibility subjects.

It’s not clear if there is a direct, cause-and-effect relationship between being more flexible and having less stiffness in the arteries. The researchers do cite another recent study that found regular stretching exercises in middle age and older adulthood significantly improved the flexibility of the carotids, major arteries found in the neck.

Healthy blood vessels are supposed to be elastic, flexible, therefore helping to moderate blood pressure. Earlier research has shown that being physically fit as you get older can hold off age-related arterial stiffness, though how this works is still a mystery.

One theory to explain why flexibility would be linked to the stiffness of the arteries is that stretching exercises may set off physical reactions that slow down the natural stiffening of the arteries so typical of aging.

"Together with our results, these findings suggest a possibility that improving flexibility induced by the stretching exercise may be capable of modifying age-related arterial stiffening in middle-aged and older adults," says Dr. Yamamoto. "We believe that flexibility exercise, such as stretching, yoga and Pilates, should be integrated as a new recommendation into the known cardiovascular benefits of regular exercise."

The findings appear in the October issue of the American Journal of Physiology – Heart and Circulatory Physiology. Future work will be needed to affirm that there may be a cause and effect relationship between flexibility and artery and veins stiffness. Until we know more, consider the benefits of adding stretching exercises, yoga or Pilates to your fitness routine (with your doctor’s okay, of course) and see how you feel. It can’t hurt, and may help more than you know.

We often say to put a little heart in it, in everything we do because it truly makes a difference. But, what are you doing in return for your heart? While we are living longer, heart failure is advancing in people over the age of 65. If you want a long, healthy life, it’s important to begin now, in protecting your heart!

For the sake of your entire cardiovascular system, your cholesterol, your blood pressure and your blood sugar (glucose) are crucial in determining the health of your heart! Diabetes and high cholesterol can raise your risk of a heart attack. Even moderately elevated cholesterol levels in mid-life tend to be a risk factor, for dementia in old age. This shows the link between how one element in your body affects the others. Therefore, maintaining your health daily is the easiest way to your overall long-term health and well-being. By taking a gradual way to achieve your good health, you may allow disease to sneak in! Instead, you can start immediately in taking steps to protect and to sustain the health of your invaluable heart, with healthy eating, exercise, relaxation, and natural heart and cardiovascular supplements.

Relieving stress, cutting calories, and monitoring your blood pressure can help reduce your risk of heart failure. All of these can be implemented by yourself, including monitoring your own blood pressure by purchasing a blood pressure cuff. This is a great start towards preventing heart failure since, there are various conditions that can cause your heart to go into failure.

More muscle is not good in this case, when the heart becomes more muscular and stiffer. This is what high blood pressure can do to your heart, from making your heart constantly pump against force. High blood pressure can cause your heart to work overtime. Picture yourself forcefully walking against the blast of a constant gust of wind. It doesn’t matter how strong your heart is. Whether your heart is weak or strong, it needs to relax and to pump properly! Fluid can build up, when your heart is not pumping properly. The prognosis is the same for a strong or weak heart, once you develop fluid buildup. To make it more clear, heart failure is not the same as cardiac arrest, when the heart stops beating. Heart failure, in medical terms is signs and symptoms of fluid buildup. Whereas, heart attack is the death of a heart muscle. Since heart muscle does not regenerate itself, it eventually becomes an inefficient machine.

Making your blood flow too fast, for too long, from constant stress can cause your body to go into the fight-or-flight response that greatly affects your heart. You use to need that increase of your blood flow to think your way out of survival situations, such as hunting or escaping. Now in modern day times, activating this system in your body for a long time can burn out your heart muscle. This is similar to your constantly driving a stickshift in low gear. You may get more out of your car but, you burn out the engine! Also, stress can lead to overeating. Overeating can lead to diabetes, affect your entire metabolism, and weaken your blood vessels. This all leads to increasing your risk of a heart attack.

Cutting calories and cutting salt intake is critical for your healthy heart! Eating fresh produce, whole grains, and reducing dairy products are all beneficial dietary choices for your heart. You may already be enjoying heart healthy foods, such as garlic, fenugreek and green tea. Garlic can help to lower your blood pressure and cholesterol. Also fenugreek, another delicious spice can help to lower your cholesterol. Include green tea, in these dietary ways to lower your total cholesterol. While eating, do look at controlling your weight because it means your heart doesn’t have to cover as much territory. This tremendously assists your heart on its blood pumping route because it doesn’t have to take as many detours along the way. Also, be mindful of your salt intake because eating too much salt can cause your body to retain water. Your goal is to reduce fluid levels in your body. Then, your heart doesn’t have to work so hard, trying to increase the blood flow. This can assist in lowering your blood pressure, by allowing your heart to pump properly.

Exercise is great for keeping your blood vessels, from becoming stiff! So think of it, as not only exercising your heart but, also exercising your blood vessels. As exercise benefits your heart and your blood vessels, it can help to control both your weight and your stress. This relaxation of your blood vessels can also be achieved by yoga, tai chi, and meditation. There are many ways for everyday, to exercise!

Now that you know some of the correct things to support a healthy heart, remember to include the easy, convenient, natural heart and cardiovascular supplements! These can keep you covered, whether or not you fall short of your healthy heart goals. May you keep your ticker ticking, for a long, healthy life!

Some excellent, natural heart and cardiovascular supplements:

CoQ10 allows your blood vessels to relax

Magnesium helps ease your arteries from restricting

L-arginine amino acid relaxes your blood vessels

Lipoic acid improves your blood vessel function and your blood sugar utilization

Garlic reduces your blood pressure and decreases plaque formation inside your arteries

Bilberry aids in your blood flow

Hawthorn stimulates circulation within your heart itself

Niacin helps improve your circulation

Vitamin C reduces blood pressure and helps your blood vessels to dilate for blood flow

Vitamin E (Tocotrienol) suppresses the production of cholesterol in your liver

Omega 3 helps maintain your cholesterol levels and blood pressure

I enjoy the challenges of living healthy and being healthy. I hope to help educate others like me who have been mislead, or just plain lack of knowledge, thinks it is too difficult to eat a proper diet daily. It really is simple once you have been expose to the multitude of foods that we can choose from to be healthy. At the end of the day just remember, we are what we eat. With proper exercise, nutrition, natural supplements, good night sleep and a appetite for constantly learning we all can make living healthy year after year a way of life rather than a new year resolution. Live your dream, do and be healthy. Be the guardian of your own heart, with cardiovascular supplements from http://www.mynaturalhealthsupplements.com/heart-cardiovascular-supplements.html.

Cardio exercise machine workouts are great and fun for burning excess body fat and building good cardiovascular health. These exercises not only help to burn body fat fast it will also strengthen your heart and lungs and thus reducing your chances of getting high blood pressure, stroke and heart diseases. Regular cardio exercises can also reduce bad cholesterol and raise the level of good cholesterol.

However, are you getting the most out of your cardio machine workouts? Are you using the cardio workout machines efficiently to gain maximum benefits of the exercises?

Well, you probably are not if you are an average gym user without any personal trainers to guide you because you will probably commit common cardio machine mistakes when exercising.

We shall now examine the more popular cardio workout machines and the common mistakes people commit when using these machines for their workouts.

Common mistakes when using cardio workout machines are :

Step up stair climber.
This is perhaps the most common mistake for not getting the most out of the step up stair climber machine. Almost invariably, everyone when exercising with this machine will rest their arms on the railing. By doing so, the railing now becomes sort of like a crutch as it will now support some of your body weight making the exercise less intensive.

Treadmill.
The treadmill is perhaps the most popular cardio workout machine in the gym. A careful observation will show that many treadmill users run with too much up and downs. This mistake will wear out the person’s ankle and knee joints over time. The correct method is to take long, smooth and purposeful strides during the exercise.

Stationery Bike.
When exercising on the stationery bike, do adjust the height of the seat to a comfortable level. I really don’t understand why many stationery bike users adjust their seats to be either too high or too low. I mean, why be uncomfortable when exercising when you can be comfortable.
When the seat is too low, it adds strain to your knees and spine. When too high, your will butt will rock from side to side. So besides not getting the best from your cardio workout on the stationery bike because your body weight will be involved when you peddle, you will also look weird. It is such a silly workout mistake right?
Another common mistake is that I often see stationery bikers reading a book when exercising. That means that they exercise at a very low intensity level. Hey, how can low intensity cardio exercises work your heart and lung effectively?

Elliptical Trainer.
This is also another bewildering common cardio workout mistake. You use the elliptical trainer to tone your body and to exercise for your cardiovascular fitness right? Then why is it I often see people who use the elliptical trainer exercising at a high speed? So what is the mistake? The mistake is that they have set the resistant level too low.

You see, if you do not puff, pant and breakout in sweat, you are not getting the best out of your cardio exercises. Is it any wonder then that people are not losing weight and not improving on their cardiovascular health even when they are doing their cardio exercises regularly?

Now that you know how to avoid these common cardio machine exercise workout mistakes, you can now head for the gym and get the best out of these exercises. In a very short time, you will see your body toning up nicely, improvement on your cardio health being felt and visibly losing excess body fat.

Today there is a daunting situation when just few people care about their health and the way the live. Unfortunately young people today do not think much about their health, they do not have time to have regular check-ups at the doctors’.

If they do sports this is really great and this means that at least they are free from bad habits, like drinking alcohol or smoking. But even this is nothing to be compared to drugs intake as the latter leads to dealth without any preconditions or warnings.

We do not even say that such habits lead to dreadful diseases from which are no possible cure. According to Women’s imaging center in Philadelphia a number of young people with cardio-vascular diseases has increased and largely this is because of the way of life they lead. For sure, the ecological situation in the country is also taken into account and the number of those diagnosed with cancer and other malicious diseases is higher in the city than in the country.

Women’s health magazine writes about an increased number of illnesses that could hardly be noticed earlier on this or that territory which shows the spread of the diseases across all the countries in the world like it has been with A1/H1 flue. At the same time only thanks to the latest advancements in medicine, like the introduction of Magnetic Resonance Imaging at the end of the XXth century, revolutionized the diagnostic imaging industry with a non invasive diagnostic imaging technique that provides superior resolution. In other words, MRI Philadelphia makes it possible to scan and study detailed images without necessity to operate on the tissues.

All in all, modern medicine is developing fast and more and more illnesses become curable but our health on 50% still depends on our way of life.

No matter who you are in the world, your body needs aerobic exercise. A healthy body and high quality way of life needs it. It has a number of pros and will help you feel greater in all areas of your life. So how can you benefit from aerobic exercise?

No matter who you are in the world, your body needs aerobic exercise. A healthy body and high quality way of life needs it. It has a number of pros and will help you feel greater in all areas of your life. So how can you benefit from aerobic exercise?

Anaerobic exercise is not like aerobic in that it is often shorter in length and greater in intensity. With anaerobics the body gets tired faster and muscles are created more actively. A variety of sports are categorized as anaerobic activities: soccer, downhill skiing, weight lifting, basketball, and football. Running or sprinting is another one. Anaerobic exercise will boost the possibility of the body being sore.

To imagine that often we don’t do aerobic exercise is crazy because of it’s number of perks. It helps control and reduces body fat, increases our total endurance, gives us more energy, assists in our resilience to exhaustion, increases our muscles, and raises our lean body mass. It also helps us mentally by improving mood, lowering anxiety, reducing depression, reducing tension, and having us sleep good at night. Who can’t benefit a little from all that? These are pros that people would all use.

An aerobics class could be a good beginning for people who want to reap the rewards of aerobic exercise and aren’t positive how to start. Both high and low intensity work outs are available in an aerobics class. The teacher should show class members how to perform these moves either way. The amount of intensity is how high you bring your limbs up during the work out routine. Athletes must perform at the level of intensity pertaining to their level of fitness and the regularity of their work outs sessions.

The goal while working out aerobically is to reach your target heart rate and remain at that for the whole period you are exercising that group of muscles. This exercises the heart more effectively and makes the body expend a greater amount of calories. The aerobic curve is something some people will often reach. This is when you start exercising and elevate your intensity level to the peak then decrease gradually. It is better to maintain that continuous level as your heart rate rises. The lungs and heart endure longer and work more effectively when they are conditioned. People who do aerobic exercise on a steady basis will have to exercise harder to achieve their target heart rate as their stamina increases. People who are only beginning will get to their target heart rate quickly until their body gets used to the exercise.

More effective implementation of the lungs by escalating the oxygen carried to them as well as the heart using that oxygen more effectively are a few of the pros of aerobic exercise. The definition of aerobic means with oxygen, or with air. Exercise that is lower in intensity and longer in time is aerobic. With aerobic sessions, an athlete implements the same big muscle group in a continuous motion from between fifteen and thirty. The goal of the aerobic exerciser is to maintain a maximum heart rate of approximately sixty to eighty %. A few aerobic sessions are: light running, cycling, walking, or treading water. These activities should be able to be done without a person breathing hard. You are possibly anaerobically working out if you are not able to carry on a brief
conversation.

While in an aerobic exercise session, the body transports more blood and oxygen to the muscle groups. It is not smart to stop suddenly from an aerobic session. This leads to dizziness and muscle spasms. It is usually a great idea to have a cooling off session after a relatively intense aerobic work out. Running in place for a moment or two is a good idea if anybody gets too exhausted during a work out session.

This type exercise is absolutely obligatory for cardiovascular fitness even though it may be a bit difficult at first. A healthy body takes regular aerobic sessions and is an ongoing process. Three times a week is generally how frequently a person should exercise if they are already in fairly good cardiovascular shape. Those who are trying to lose weight and raise their level of fitness should work out four to five times a week.
