Lower Your Blood Pressure By Reducing Stress

A great way to lower your blood pressure is by reducing stress in your life. Just about everyone faces stress in some way or another at some point in their lives. For some, stress is even a daily, almost continuous occurrence. In order to reduce hypertension, it is essential to maintain stress levels at a healthy and reasonable level. Stress is perfectly normal. It is the way stress is managed or dealt with where some people run into difficulties.

Managing stress in no way implies that the problems causing it are to be swept under the carpet. Any adversity faced in life can be dealt with far more effectively if it is tackled with healthy levels of stress instead of panic and anxiety. If you choose to ignore your problems it is likely that this will work against your attempts to reduce your blood pressure as your subconscious will still be aware of the problem existing.

Excessively high levels of stress and anxiety can trigger your blood pressure levels to sky rocket temporarily or spike. As you can imagine, this can be extremely dangerous and continuous bouts can lead to long term damage. Unfortunately, most people are blissfully unaware that this is taking place in their body. With this knowledge, it is obvious that reducing stress is essential if you want to lower your blood pressure.

To reduce hypertension, you need to devise a way that works for you to quickly and effectively bring rising stress levels to a halt. Some people find going for a walk relaxes them and gives them space to get things right in their minds, other people may prefer to have a long relaxing bath or shower. Reading books, enjoying a massage, going out with friends, being with pets, yoga and meditation are some other calm inducing suggestions. If you truly want to eliminate high blood pressure from your life, you must discover the best activity for you personally which allows you to release stress. All you need to do then is to make it a regular part of your life.

I take my BP every night to check if my anti-BP pill is working. After all these years and so many pills, I know for a fact that my BP is not related to the food that I take but the thoughts that I have. I am 62 years old, a very good candidate for high BP. But I hover around 120/80 for two things: Norten and bio-feedback. If the former fails I resort to the latter. Bio-feedback is the skill of talking to myself to remove all the stressful thoughts in my mind. it works all the time.
