Cardiovascular Circulation – Ways to Keep Your Blood Flowing

Fish is a rich source of protein, vitamins, and minerals minus the calories. And it’s important for your cardiovascular circulation.

Because fish and fish oil are a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids. These are essential nutrients which benefit you in many ways.

Taking fish oil supplements help lower potentials for cancer, create stronger immune systems, reduce inflammation, reduce joint paints, and contribute to better looking skin. More importantly, fish oil reduces the risk of heart disease and helps improve circulation.

The most often cause of heart attacks and stroke is the breakage of blood vessels. This breakage, also called hemorrhage, occurs normally at the weakest point of the blood vessels where the lining is most fragile brought about by sudden changes of blood pressure.

Damage to the circulatory system are also caused by free radicals, toxins within the body, poor nutrition, high alcohol intake, smoking, poor absorption of nutrients, and poor nutrition. The other major cause of hemorrhage is the formation of blockage inside the blood vessels because of buildup of fatty deposits, triglycerides, and bad cholesterol.

Fish oil is known for its ability to improve the body’s blood circulation.

The Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil perform two vital functions in the prevention of blood vessel blockage: removing preexisting deposits and preventing new deposits from forming.

The powerful anti-oxidants of omega-3 bind to the surface of the cells, thus protecting them from being attacked by free radicals. Increased amount of omega-3 fatty acids give your cells more protection and flexibility, thus reducing the chances of hemorrhage.

More importantly, fish oil increases the level of good cholesterol or high-density lipoproteins (HDL) in the blood.

They travel through the bloodstream and pickup bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides and then deliver them to the liver for excretion or reprocessing. As mentioned, increasing the amount of HDL in your blood can prevent new deposits from forming and can effectively remove any preexisting deposits.

In addition, research has shown that omega-3 fatty acids effectively lower the amount of fibrin, fibrous protein involved in formation of blood clots, in your blood. When there are high levels of fibrin in the blood, there is higher risk for coagulation, which can impede the flow of blood. Thus, having more omega-3 fatty acids in the blood makes your blood flow better, and prevent heart attacks and stroke.

Daily intake of fish oil in your diet or as a supplement is recommended by many experts.

Nutritionists suggest individuals to take 1,000 to 2,000 mg of fish oil everyday.

For instance, if you are taking fish oil from the fish in your diet, eat oily fish at least twice each week.

Flax seeds and walnuts are other sources of dietary omega-3 fatty acids. In addition to taking good cardiovascular circulation supplements, eating healthy low glycemic index foods, reducing bad fats, and exercising at least a half-hour a day are other helpful and significant ways that you can do to improve blood circulation.

If you do not have time to exercise religiously, try to move your body every hour or more. Lastly, reduce the stress in your life for high levels of stress interfere with cardiovascular circulation.
